1.01 DESCRIPTION:

  • SPRAY-N-SEAL® is a water-based penetrating sealer that protects natural stone surfaces from staining. It is wonderful for stone countertops, floors, walls, vanities and even grout. This below surface sealer is also ideal for sealing all types of masonry, stucco, concrete and sanded grout. It has a special blend of polymers that bond to the stone and creates a water and oil repellant membrane to prevent staining, yet it allows the stone to breathe and release moisture vapors. It is safe for interior and exterior use and is UL Classified for slip resistance. This stone sealer will not alter the color of any stone, tile or grout.

1.02 SUMMARY:

  • The natural colors and patterns of natural stone are safely protected with SPRAY-N-SEAL®. The most important part of natural stone is the interior. SPRAY-N-SEAL® is designed to provide protection to preserve the natural color minerals and bonding agents of stone. It penetrates through the surface to provide a durable water and oil repellant base in the stone. SPRAY-N-SEAL® does not contain any solvents that can possibly harm the contact of installation membranes.

3.03 BENEFITS:

3.04 RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Always test a small area before using to determine if the product is applicable.
  • All stains, moisture, and dirt must be removed prior to the sealer application and must remain dry 24-48 hours after application.
  • The surface must be completely dry before applying to the surface.
  • Allow three hours after the application before walking on the surface.

3.05 FIRST AID:

  • For emergencies, refer to MSDS sheet and call 1-800-535-5053
  • If swallowed, drink 2 to 3 glasses of water and call a physician immediately.
  • If inhalation is excessive, get person to fresh air. If unconscious, call a physician immediately.
  • If contacted with eyes or skin, rinse with water for 15 minutes. Call a physician if symptoms continue.

PART IV- Product Procedures:

4.01 PREPARING THE SURFACE:

  1. All surfaces must be clean and free from debris and remain dry for 6-12 hours before the application of STONE SPRAY N SEAL and remain dry for 24-48 hours after the application. 48 Hours provides the best protection.
  2. Floor surface temperature must be above 50 degrees F and below 90 degrees F.

4.02 SMOOTH POLISHED or SMOOTH HONED SURFACES: -COUNTERTOPS, FLOORS, VANITIES, & WALLS

*Always test first in a small area for desired results before applying to entire surface.

If your surface has any topical waxes or stains, they must be removed before sealing.

  1. Surface should be dry for 6-12 hours before sealing.
  2. Clean countertop surface using Marbamist or Clean EnCounters. For stone floors, clean with Marbalex. (It is safe to lightly clean the stone before sealing.)
  3. Cover surrounding areas that are not intended to be sealed.
  4. Liberally spray the entire surface until it is wet. (Outer edges may dry quicker.)
  5. When surface begins to dry within 3-5 minutes, wet the surface again with the sealer. (This will allow the sealer to properly penetrate and cure.)
  6. After 30 minutes, wipes off excess sealer from the surface with a clean and dry white terry cloth towel.
  7. If excess dries on the surface, spray more sealer onto the surface and wipe off immediately with a clean dry terry cloth towel. For large stone floors, excess can be buffed off with a clean white buffing pad or an all cloth bonnet pad.

Floor surfaces may be walked on 4 hours after application. For best curing results, keep surface dry for 24- 48 hours after application. 48 hours will provide best protection.

4.03 GROUT SEALING:

  1. Grout must be dry for 72 Hours
  2. Spray Sealer on to grout completely wetting the grout.
  3. Wipe off excess sealer with a white terry cloth towel, 3 minutes after application

4.04 GROUT RELEASE:

  1. Install the stone with the proper setting materials and follow procedures A-G.
  2. Apply grout to the joints.
  3. Wipe off remaining residue with MARBALEX or MARBAMIST .
  4. Seal sanded grout 72 hours after curing.

4.05 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE:

  1. General cleaning of floor surfaces use MARBALEX.
  2. General cleaning of countertops, tabletops, vanities and walls use MARBAMIST or CLEAN ENCOUNTERS.
