Part I: General

1.01 DESCRIPTION:

• Intensive, yet safe, STONE QUEST® is a non-butyl and non-acidic PH stone cleaner that quickly penetrates heavy surface soils, soap scum, grease, oil, soot, ink, carbon and mildew stains. This product is also an excellent stain remover and grout cleaner. STONE QUEST® is biodegradable and is safe for both interior and exterior use. STONE QUEST® is UL Classified for Slip Resistance.

1.02 SUMMARY:

• Natural stone surfaces and grout are often neglected from proper maintenance which leads to heavy soil build up. Procedures and chemicals to remove these buildups can often be harmful to the stone. STONE QUEST® is an easy to use restoration cleaner that will remove soils from the surface for effortless cleaning.

3.04 SUBMITTALS:

• Stone Care International Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
• Underwriter Laboratories testing results for slip resistance.

3.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE:

• Always test a small area before using to assure compatibility.

• Test Area: Apply STONE QUEST to a small area at the project site in accordance to the manufacturers directions of the bottle label. Be sure to record all the test results including coverage and stain prevention.

3.06 PRODUCT WARRANTY:

• SCI guarantees complete satisfaction of its products. If not completely satisfied with the performance of the product, when used as directed and the surface has been tested first, contact Stone Care International, Inc. for a refund of the purchase price or a replacement by another SCI product. Determining the suitability of the product for any intended purpose shall be solely the responsibility of the user. There are no warranties, express or implied, including those of merchantability or fitness for particular purpose which extend beyond the description on the product label.

3.07 HANDLING:

• Have MSDS sheets accessible at all times.
• Product must be delivered undamaged and in the original containers with labels intact and legible.

3.08 RECOMMENDATIONS:

• Always test on a small area before using.
• Natural stone should be protected with STONE SPRAY-N-SEAL Penetrating Sealer.
• Follow the recommended SCI cleaning procedures for STONE QUEST®.
• Not for use as a daily cleaner for polished marble.

3.09 FIRST AID:

• Keep all chemicals out of the reach of children.
• May cause gastrointestinal, eye or skin irritation. Do not drink and avoid eye and skin contact.
• If eye contact is made, rinse with water for 15 minutes and call a physician if symptoms continue.
• If swallowed, drink 2-3 glasses of water and call a physician immediately.
• For emergencies, call 1-800-535-5053.

PART IV- Product Procedures:

4.01 PREPARING THE SURFACE:

• Be sure the surface is free from loose debris and sediment.
• CLEANING DILUTION RATIOS:
  • Light soil (2 ounces to 1 gallon of warm water)
  • Medium soil (6 ounces to 1 gallon of warm water)
  • Heavy soil (10 ounces to 1 gallon of warm water)

4.02 WET MOPPING OR SPONGING: (Smooth Surfaces)

1. Dilute STONE QUEST® accordingly.
2. Apply solution with a clean rayon mop or sponge mop.
3. Let solution set for one minute.
   (On polished marble or limestone let it set for a maximum of one minute.)
4. Pick up solution with a mop or wet/dry vacuum.
5. Lightly rinse with MARBALEX using a clean rayon mop or sponge mop.

4.03 SPRAY CLEANING:

1. Dilute STONE QUEST® at 1 ounce per quart of warm water.
2. Spray onto the stone surface and let it set for two minutes.
   (On polished marble or limestone let it set for a maximum of one minute.)
3. Wipe off with a clean soft cloth.
4. Rinse with MARBALEX.

4.04 AUTOMATIC SCRUBBING: (Ceramic, Terra Cotta, Terrazzo, Cement)

1. Dilute 2 ounces per gallon of warm water.
2. Use a STONEGLIDE ALPHA Brush on smooth surfaces and a STONEGLIDE BETA Brush on rough surfaces.

4.05 INTENSIVE CLEANING:

1. Follow all of the above procedures and increase the dilution ratio as needed.
2. Never use STONE QUEST® undiluted on polished surfaces.
